Prospect Park Pollinators, Weeds, Seeds, Water (ways) — Tour

Join horticulturalist Zachary Tan Strein and local artist Iviva Olenick for a tour of a newly planted Prospect Park landscape. We’ll talk about native pollinators, self-spreading plants, and the definition of a swale garden, designed to slow water down and allow it to spread and sink into the soil. We will also visit a nearby pond and talk about the flora within.

After our 30-45-minute plant conversation, Iviva will lead a 45-minute seated botanical embroidery lesson. Materials provided. Looking forward to seeing you there — initial meeting spot is the Park Circle entrance of Prospect Park (in the mouth of the park, not the circle itself!), where Park Circle and South Lake Drive intersect.

Brooklyn Embroidered Oral History Garden Tours is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Brooklyn Arts Council.
