Memories of Now — Contemporary Art Exhibition
Join Sofy Gallery NYC for “Memories of Now,” a compelling group exhibition exploring the delicate threshold between memory, time, and identity.
Curated by New York-based artist Allie Sutherland, this highly anticipated collective exhibition brings together seven extraordinary contemporary artists: Allie Sutherland, Isadora Capraro, Dan Munkus, Valerie Rovins, Angela Wei, Wanting Li, and Nick Weber.
Through a diverse and distinct array of visual languages — occupying the threshold between abstraction and representation — Memories of Now serves as a profound visual dialogue on how the fleeting moments of the present immediately solidify into the architecture of our personal and collective histories.
About the Exhibition
Inhabiting the delicate intersection where past consciousness and present experience coalesce, the exhibition proposes that memory is not mere recollection but an active reconstruction of the past, built in the present from reclaimed experience.
The works on view reflect this paradox, moving beautifully between the legible and the imagined, the gestural and the architectural, the mythological and the psychological. Each artwork functions as a living archive, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and engage with the present moment before it transitions into memory again.
Opening Reception: Join us for the public opening night on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
