Staten Island New Creek Bluebelt Tour

Staten Island New Creek Bluebelt Tour

The tour will include the New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) most recent Bluebelt sites in the New Creek watershed. These sites include the new Last Chance Pond and “Gateway to the Bluebelt” stormwater wetlands. The walking tour will take participants into the sites to explore the different stormwater, flood control, ecological, and native plant aspects of the system. The meeting location will be at the Staples Store parking lot located at 1885 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY. The meeting point is accessible from the Staten Island Railroad (Dongan Hills, Jefferson Ave stations) and the S78 bus. The tour will be led by Robert Brauman, Deputy Chief of Bluebelt Operations and Maintenance at DEP.
