Outdoor Afro Community Birding Tour

Join Prospect Park Alliance and Outdoor Afro, an organization dedicated to reconnecting Black people and communities with nature, for a community birding tour for the BIPOC community. Explore the Prospect Park Vale, a little-known natural area and bird habitat in the northeast corner of the park that is soon to be restored by the Alliance, observe a variety of bird species, and connect with your local community in a shared appreciation for nature and wildlife. The walk will begin at the newly restored Lefferts Historic House, where the Alliance is shifting the focus to the history of enslaved Africans and the Indigenous people of Lenapehoking, followed by a scenic walk through the Vale.

The event will be entirely outdoors. Please dress accordingly for the weather.

Prospect Park Alliance would like to express our gratitude to our partner, Central, and South East Brooklyn Community Development Corporation, an organization focused on advancing the holistic health of the residents in Central and South East Brooklyn.
