Guided Tours of the Norwalk Historical Society’s Mill Hill Historic Park

On CT Open House Day, Saturday, June 11th, Norwalk Historical Society’s Programs & Educational Coordinator, Samantha Kulish-Fargione, will lead-FREE guided tours of Mill Hill at 12:00 pm, 12:30 pm & 1:00 pm.

Each tour is limited to 10 people. Registration Required.

Explore the c1740 Governor Fitch Law Office and learn about Colonial governor Thomas Fitch as well as daily life during the mid-1700s.

Visit the c1826 Downtown District One Room Schoolhouse and the exhibit, “One Room Schoolhouses: A History of Education in Norwalk 1650-1870”, which highlights the early history of education in Norwalk using old photographs, original documents, and period textbooks. Experience school life in the early to mid-1800s!

Learn about the variety of herbs and plants that would have been grown during the colonial days with a tour of the Colonial Herb Garden.

Both exhibits were curated by Dr. Daryn Reyman-Lock with exhibit design by Scott Kuykendall.

After the 30-minute guided tour, attendees are invited to explore the Society’s new award-winning exhibit, “Norwalk’s Changing Communities: 13,000 BC — 1835” in Mill Hill’s townhouse building as well as stroll through the Mill Hill Burying Ground.
