The Resilience Walk — A Ginkgo-Inspired Guided Nature Meditation
A guided meditation and nature walk through Madison Square Park inspired by the ginkgo tree.
The ginkgo tree has survived for over 200 million years. It outlasted the dinosaurs, ice ages, and mass extinctions. Six ginkgo trees even survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima — standing within a mile of the blast, they are still alive today. The Japanese call them hibaku jumoku: survivor trees.
The Resilience Walk is a guided, 30-minute nature walk and meditation in Madison Square Park that draws on the ginkgo’s extraordinary story. This isn’t a lecture or a therapy session — it’s a simple, participatory practice designed to help you pause, reflect, and reconnect with the quiet endurance that already lives in you.
What to expect:
A mindful, guided walk among the park’s trees. The story of the hibaku jumoku and what the ginkgo teaches us about endurance. A short personal resilience reflection activity.
This walk is for anyone navigating a difficult season — burnout, grief, transition, or just the weight of everyday life. No experience necessary. No sign-up pressure. Just show up.
