One-woman Play “Reclaiming Vietnam”
This one-woman play is an autobiographical work that explores identity, human fragility, and human error. Kim has struggled to recognize her Vietnamese heritage, wishing away her father’s less-than-desirable immigrant status, skin color, and all the painful family secrets she inherited. As she returns to her hometown, she discovers the beauty of her roots and proceeds to confront the trauma of her past.
This presentation is for mature audiences due to adult themes/content. Children age 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Please join us afterward for a conversation with the writer and performer Kim Chinh as well as Monica Ahmed-Lee, immigration attorney, management consultant, and Founder and Director of Inviolate Initiative, a nonprofit providing mental health assessments for immigrant survivors of domestic abuse and trafficking.
