Open Dramatic Play
Open Dramatic Play is a free program for children of different ages at the Bloomingdale Library in New York. It is a drop-in program that takes place on Saturdays, from 10 AM to 4 PM, when the library is open. Children can enjoy dramatic, themed playtime with toys, costumes, and props that are appropriate for toddlers through early elementary. The program aims to foster creativity, imagination, and social skills among the participants. No registration is required, and parents or caregivers must accompany their children.
The next Open Dramatic Play will be on Saturday, December 23, 2023. The theme for that day is Winter Wonderland. Children can pretend to be snowmen, ice skaters, penguins, or anything else related to winter. They can also make snowflakes, snow globes, and other winter crafts. The program will take place in the Children’s Room on the first floor of the Bloomingdale Library.
