About the instructor:

Matt Cardenas (He / Him / El) is a New York City-based fitness professional with extensive experience in various movement fitness modalities. Starting as an Instructor on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Matt began his career in the indoor cycling world and eventually became a Lead Instructor and the Director of Instructor Training at RYDE Cycling in Union Square. During this time Matt was also coaching bodyweight conditioning classes as well as boutique rowing. During the pandemic, Matt trained various clients virtually and eventually became a Coach and the Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer for a virtual fitness start-up. From there Matt continued to teach cycling & HIIT classes for various studios before eventually expanding FUEGO to in-person classes. FUEGO combines Latinx beats with High-Intensity Interval Training to create a sweaty and welcoming class for ALL people.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre, a 200-hour RYT, a TRX Coach Qualification, and is CPR /AED certified.
