- Book Reading: Discover Narwhal, Unicorn of the Arctic, a beautifully written and illustrated journey into the life of one of the Arctic’s most fascinating creatures. Through Candace Fleming’s rich prose and Deena So’Oteh’s atmospheric artwork, young readers will gain a deeper appreciation for the narwhal’s world.
- Illustration Workshop: The fun starts here! Open to ages 5 and up, this workshop invites children to step into the role of illustrator for a day. They’ll select a short excerpt from the manuscript and bring it to life by creating their unique illustration. This engaging, hands-on activity sparks creativity and shows how stories come alive through art!

About the author: Candace Fleming is one of today’s most celebrated authors of children’s books. About the illustrator: Deena So’Oteh, the illustrator of Narwhal, Unicorn of the Arctic, is an award-winning illustrator known for her evocative use of light, texture, and atmosphere. She is the recipient of a Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators, a Bronze Cube from the Art Directors Club, and has created artwork for Star Wars. The book provides an intimate look at the mysterious and extraordinary narwhal, drawing readers closer to this unique creature and its Arctic habitat.
