There are over 870,000 trees in NYC, and we want to help communities take care of them! With funding from the MillerKnoll Foundation, we’re launching two free street tree care workshops this fall to support existing community groups in regularly caring for their neighborhood trees and to help individuals or new groups form and do this work. All interested are welcome to join for this event. During this November 9 session at Big Reuse, you’ll learn why and how we take care of street trees, including a step-by-step process of hosting a street tree care event in your neighborhood and tips based on our street tree care team’s extensive experiences in the field!

For anyone available to join, we’ll then walk together from Big Reuse to 518 5th Ave for a street tree care event with the Park Slope 5th Ave BID to practice our skills. Stay tuned for the second session date, which will go more in-depth into how to organize an active community-based group & volunteer recruitment.

We’re also planning to livestream the November 9 session and will send out information on how to view it as we get closer.
