Workshop “Modular Origami”
*This event is open to NYU Students, Staff, and Faculty only.
In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of traditional origami and how to apply folds to create modular shapes. This workshop will walk you through the origins of origami in Japan, covering the most commonly used folds, various paper types, and other traditional techniques.
To create various shapes and carry out diagrams, participants will delve into spatial thinking, an idea commonly used in engineering and design. This workshop will also incorporate hands-on learning and build modular design skills to introduce complex structures and multi-piece origami. Join this workshop to have some fun and learn something new at the same time!
*This workshop is open to all current NYU students, staff, and faculty and will take place in person at the NYU MakerSpace located in the Tandon School of Engineering on the downtown Brooklyn campus.*
