Workshop “Sports Analytics with Python — Wearable Device Data”
Are you interested in extracting insights from the data collected by the sensors of wearable devices (smartwatches, Heart Rate Bands etc.)
If you’re a coach/athlete or machine learning expert, you can benefit from this hands-on workshop.
First, we’ll demonstrate how to gather data from wearable devices. Then raw data will be manipulated for visualization.
After these steps Half and Full Marathon finish times will be predicted with regression algorithms using the previous training data.
Moreover, if you’re a coach training a team, clustering team members will be explained as well for extracting hidden patterns and insights.
Here’s a list of data to be used for visualization and modeling:
- Heart Rates and Zones
- VO2Max
- Calories
- Respiration Rate (brpm)
- Running Pace
- Cycling Power (Watts)
- Running/Cycling Cadence (spm)
- Elevation
- Stride Length (meters)
- Vertical Oscillation (cm)
- Ground Contact Time (ms)
- Temperature
- 400mt, 1km, 5km race finish times
