Find Your Voice Through Poetry

Every great writer starts with a single story.

Join Session 1: Finding Your Voice, the opening workshop of The RESET Writing Collective, a free five-part creative writing series hosted by Find Community Connection Project (FCCP).

This interactive workshop introduces participants to the power of poetry and storytelling as tools for self-expression, creativity, and healing. Through guided writing prompts, engaging discussions, and reflective activities, you’ll begin discovering your unique voice while connecting with a community of emerging writers.

Whether you’ve never written a poem before or already enjoy writing, this workshop welcomes all experience levels.

Come as you are—leave inspired.

Workshop Theme

Finding Your Voice

This introductory session focuses on discovering your authentic voice through poetry and creative writing.

Participants will:

  • Meet fellow writers in a welcoming environment.
  • Explore the basics of poetry and storytelling.
  • Participate in guided writing exercises.
  • Respond to creative writing prompts.
  • Begin drafting original poetry inspired by personal experiences.
  • Build confidence expressing themselves through writing.

Meet the Facilitator

Kevin Sauray (CBL Kev)

Kevin Sauray is a Brooklyn-based poet, spoken-word artist, educator, and teaching artist who empowers writers to discover and strengthen their voices through creative expression. His workshops create welcoming spaces where participants can write, reflect, and grow together.
