Exhibition “Don’t Stop. Stand Up”
An exhibition curated by Yabu Pushelberg in partnership with UNAIDS.
Don’t Stop. Stand Up! is an exhibition exploring LGBTQIA+ identity, activism, and resilience in response to HIV/AIDS through photography, archival works, cultural artifacts, conversation, and community gathering.
The exhibition brings together archival and contemporary works that examine queer history across generations—from the sexual liberation movement of 1960s and 70s New York to the AIDS epidemic and the conversations shaping queer communities today. The exhibition also traces the social, political, and human history of the AIDS epidemic and highlights the UN’s goal to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 through public engagement and social mobilization.
“HIV/AIDS affects everyone and touches society at large. It is no longer limited to gay men or historically marginalized communities.”
