Brown Babies n’ Books The People Remember

Brown Babies n’ Books is proud to partner with The Little Bookshop to present a special Kwanzaa Storytime & Book Signing featuring New York Times bestselling and Coretta Scott King Award—winning author Ibi Zoboi.

This family-friendly gathering centers on storytelling, culture, and community, inviting families to come together in celebration of Kwanzaa through literature and shared tradition. Ibi Zoboi will read from her acclaimed picture book The People Remember, a powerful and poetic tribute to Black history, memory, and collective legacy, followed by a book signing.

Hosted in the heart of Brooklyn, this intimate storytime experience is designed for babies, toddlers, and young children, while also offering a meaningful moment of reflection for parents and caregivers. Books will be available for purchase and signing on site, and attendees will enjoy gumbo, traditional and vegan options, and corn bread honoring the spirit and symbolism of the season.

This event reflects Brown Babies n’ Books’ ongoing mission to create inclusive, culturally affirming literary spaces for Black and Brown families, and The Little Bookshop’s commitment to community-centered storytelling.
