Hosted by Greenlight staff member Megan, our Tween Grade Book Group is geared toward kids ages 9 to 12, reading and discussing great contemporary and classic chapter books. Pizza is served!

For May, the group discusses Yoon Ha Lee’s Dragon Pearl, a middle-grade space opera about thirteen-year-old Min, a teenage fox spirit who runs away from her impoverished planet to solve the mystery of her missing brother. Encountering gamblers, space pirates, vengeful ghosts, and more along the way, Min’s quest leads her to an outcome that may not be what she had hoped, but has the potential to exceed her wildest dreams— and potentially save her planet. A sci-fi adventure with the underpinnings of Korean mythology, Dragon Pearl will transport you to a world far beyond your imagination.
