Young Adult Book Group with Micah
Hosted by Greenlight bookseller Micah, the YA Book Group is a space for the curious young reader interested in a curated, intentionally diverse, and broad selection of books. While literature is of course at the core of this book group, cultivating our very own community and connections are also at the root of YABG, so if this sounds like a good time to you, come join the fun! For February, the group discusses Wearing My Mother’s Heart by performance poet Sophia Thakur. In this heartfelt collection of poems, Thakur takes us on an emotionally charged journey through the lives of women in the past and considers what it means to be a woman today. Powerful and exploratory, Wearing My Mother’s Heart weaves together the voices of a grandmother, mother, and daughter in a way that will resonate with all young women as they approach the joys and pain of adulthood.
