Hosted by Greenlight staff member Megan, our Tween Grade Book Group returns are geared toward kids ages 9 to 12, reading and discussing great contemporary and classic chapter books. Pizza is served, and parents are welcome (but not required) to attend.
For October, the group discusses The Very Unfortunate Wish of Melony Yoshimura by Waka Brown, a magical and chilling Coraline-esque retelling of the Japanese folktale “The Melon Princess and the Amanjaku”. In this fresh and eerie tale, one girl must save herself — and her loved ones — from a deceitful demon, whose friendship has sinister consequences.
