Literary Travels: Book Arts Program with Ana Cordeiro

Join us for a book arts program in conjunction with Camões: A Poet Read, a Poet Reader, a rare books exhibition in collaboration with the Gaudium Magnum Foundation featuring different types of books in the Hispanic Society collection.

The program will include a hands-on demo of two historical book structures: a Turkish Map Fold and a Vade mecum, which is the term for a handbook or guide that is kept constantly at hand for consultation. The phrase is Latin and means ‘go with me’ or ’take along’. The workshop will be led by Ana Cordeiro, a recipient of the 2024 Governor’s Medal of Arts and Culture.
