Hosted by Greenlight bookseller Micah, the Young Adult Book Group is a space for the curious young reader interested in a curated, intentionally diverse, and broad selection of books. While literature is of course at the core of this book group, cultivating our very own community and connections are also at the root of YABG, so if this sounds like a good time to you, come join the fun! Young Adult Book Group is geared toward readers ages 13+; parents are welcome (but not required) to attend.

For September, the group discusses the New York Times bestseller Piecing Me Together by Renee Watson. A powerful story, Piecing Me Together is about a girl striving for success in a world that too often seems like it’s trying to break her. Jade believes she must get out of her poor neighborhood to succeed and her mother tells her to take advantage of every opportunity, including the private school where she feels like an outsider. Tired of being singled out as someone who needs help, Jade wants to speak, to create, to express her joys and sorrows, as well as her pain and hope.
