Set against the backdrop of the southern Appalachian Mountains, the narrative unfolds around a boy born to a teenage single mother in a modest trailer. Armed with nothing but his deceased father’s good looks, copper-colored hair, sharp wit, and a resilient survival instinct, he navigates a plot that unfolds without pause. In his unfiltered voice, he confronts the contemporary challenges of foster care, child labor, neglected schools, athletic achievements, addiction, tumultuous love affairs, and profound losses. Throughout these trials, he grapples with his sense of invisibility in a popular culture that seems to have forsaken rural communities for urban centers, even in the realm of superheroes.

The venue is accessible for wheelchairs, and upon request with at least one week’s notice, assisted listening devices can be provided. Additionally, ASL interpretation is available upon request with a minimum of two weeks’ advanced notice.
