In the spirit of “paying it forward,” Bobo’s Wild Chase reveals that when you give kindness, you receive kindness in return.

When a young girl is tasked with taking care of her elderly neighbor’s sprightly pup, she’s led on a lively chase that has her winding through city streets meeting good-hearted strangers who become friends along the way.

Ivan Lin and Stephanie Fu are co-authors of Bobo’s Wild Chase, both the English and Chinese formats. They are parents of 2 girls, 6 and 3, living in Brooklyn. They began writing this book in the midst of the Pandemic, inspired by the humanity and kindness they encountered in their communities, and the hope they felt after months of feeling helpless and unsure of what the future holds for the next generation while watching racial tensions unfold in the year 2020-21. Their goals with this book are not only to have Asian characters and languages represented in children’s literature, but also to teach young readers that being different, whether skin color, race, gender, culture, religion, perspective, opinions, and beliefs, is normal and should not stand in the way of being kind to each other and pursuing belonging and love.

Born and raised in Toronto with cultural roots in Hong Kong, Robyn Ng is currently based in Brooklyn, NY. An alum of the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration, Robyn has worn many hats over the years as an art director, graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, and animator. She’s worked in agencies, children’s publishing, startups, and for online stationery and event-sending companies. Robyn is the illustrator of I Had a Favorite Hat, and is represented by the wonderful Stephen Barr of Writers House. Prints of her illustrations are available on Society6.
