Talking bell Book Club is reading “The Will to Change: Men , Masculinity”

Talking bell is a book club for folks to come together to talk about race, gender, class, and sexual oppression under the guidance of bell hooks’ work.

The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love

In The Will to Change, bell hooks get to the heart of the matter and show men how to express the emotions that are a fundamental part of who they are—whatever their age, marital status, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. But toxic masculinity punishes those fundamental emotions, and it’s so deeply ingrained in our society that it’s hard for men to not comply—but hooks want to help change that.

About Adanne

At Adanne, we plan to transform the lives of our community. As a gathering place for Black intellectual thought and literature, we have high hopes of stimulating a generation of students, intellectuals, writers, and artists. Our planned impact is to reignite reading and readership across Black America to uncover true Black and Brown history. In this generation of increased censorship and critical race theory antagonists, we plan to normalize and cement Black history and multicultural studies as valid, valuable, enriching, and fundamental for our future.
