Public Lecture “Blood on the Floor: The Mosaics of a Roman-era Synagogue”

Come hear from Dr. Ra’anan Boustan (Yale University), a foremost scholar of Judaism and archaeology, as he takes us on a tour of the ancient world.

Dr. Boustan will discuss the incredible mosaics that have recently been unearthed in the synagogue of the late Roman village of Huqoq in Lower Galilee (Israel). From biblical episodes involving Samson and Jonah, to the battles of the Hasmonean kingdom, come learn about the rich tradition of Judaism in the Roman Period.
