Program “American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: Talk Saves Lives”

The New York Public Library (NYPL) will be collaborating with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) — New York City Chapter to bring in-person and virtual Talk Saves Lives presentations to library branches in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island. The Talk Saves Lives program is an introduction to suicide prevention that covers the scope of suicide, the research on prevention, and what people can do to fight suicide.

Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention is a community-based presentation that covers the general scope of suicide, prevention research, and what people can do to save lives.

Talk Saves Lives is the official program where American Foundation for Suicide Prevention speaks to people about suicide and suicide prevention. It is the leading place where consumers can get assistance in learning about suicide and suicide prevention resources. AFSP also offers advocacy opportunities, treatment assistance, and ways to connect to other members within your community. AFSP covers the five boroughs and is open and available to all residents of NYS.
