Opening + Lecture: Edgar Allan Poe in New York

Join us at Poe Park in the Bronx for an engaging exploration of Edgar Allan Poe’s New York connections. We’ll begin with a brief introduction to Poetry Downtown New York by Erik van Loon, followed by a lecture from Roger McCormack of the Bronx Historical Society. Roger will delve into “Edgar Allan Poe’s Life in New York,” providing fascinating insights into Poe’s time in the city.

After the lecture, take a short visit to the historic Edgar Allan Poe Cottage, where Poe lived with his wife Virginia, and his aunt, Maria Clemm. Virginia passed away in the cottage, and Maria left shortly after Poe died in a Baltimore hospital.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to uncover lesser-known aspects of Edgar Allan Poe’s life in New York. Reserve your spot now!
