About the panel

The need for public health services is increasing and resources are decreasing in an environment of pre-existing deficits. We need resources to support a trained and diverse public health workforce. We must also continue creating such a workforce and boosting morale so that it is ready to meet present and future public health needs. This event will explore strategies to develop a robust workforce pipeline, including accelerated pathway programs, deploying entry-level graduates, and reduction of civil service barriers.

This panel moderated by Dean Ayman El-Mohandes and featuring NYS Assemblymembers Amy Paulin, Karines Reyes; NYS Senator Gustavo Rivera; NYS Senate Standing Committee on Higher Education Director Jan Dorman; and NYC Councilmembers Lynn Schulman, Eric Dinowitz will discuss potential solutions for reimagining the public health workforce and explore how government, schools of public health, and individuals can partner and address these issues together.
