Meet the Panel

Our panel has an incredible mix of Alumni, current students, and industry experts who can share great insights based on their experience. Please learn more about our panelists below.

1. David P Fitzgerald: David works as the CPO for the IEOR department and joined Columbia with 15+ years of corporate and agency recruiting experience. He built Operations and Analytics Departments for some of New York City’s fastest-growing companies such as FreshDirect, Etsy, Blue Apron, and Rent The Runway. David is very excited to join our team and he is looking forward to leveraging his recruitment and employer relations experience to help shape a brighter future for you.

2. Daniel Galphren: Dan is currently a PhD student in Earth and Environmental Engineering at SEAS but was previously an engineer in the Watts Water Technologies Leadership Development Program and then an R&D Engineer. At Watts, Daniel negotiated for both offers and set up Early-In-Career seminars for interns and new hires to learn about professional practice and negotiation skills.

4. Alexander Potlucki: Alexander Potulicki is the Section Manager of Demand Response at ConEdison where he oversees the operations and strategy teams for electric peak shaving and contingency programs. Prior to this role, he held various positions in engineering, operations, planning, and project management at Con Edison, Sikorsky Aircraft, and the US Department of Energy. Alex is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia, and an MBA from NYU. Alex serves as President of the Columbia Engineering Alumni Association (CEAA), an independent 501c3 founded in 1872 to foster and deepen the bonds of fellowship between the alumni, faculty, and students of the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is a native New Yorker who also serves on his building Co-Op board.

5. Marina Fahim:

6. Tony Butcher: Tony is an 18-year military veteran, having served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy, and currently serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an Information Professional, supporting functions in computers and networks, satellite and radio communications, and cyber security. His notable assignment locations with the military have included Alaska, Brazil, Qatar, the British Indian Ocean Territory, and Australia.

In the private sector, his roles have been primarily in leading information security and IT service management functions at Bank of America, Citi, Northrop Grumman, and Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He joined CLS Group in 2023 as Information Security Risk Management Lead, directing a team providing subject matter expertise and credible challenges on information security risk ownership, assessment, and controls.

His credentials include a postgraduate certificate in Cyber Security Fundamentals from Naval Postgraduate School, an MBA from UC Davis, and an MS in Computer Science from Columbia University, where he was a member of Columbia Space Initiative, Columbia University Amateur Radio Club, and Columbia Political Union.
