Panthea Lee on Stewarding Love & Liberation: Practices for Transformation Lecture

Please join us for our Fall 2023 Guest Lecture Series as we welcome Panthea Lee.

The world is burning. The challenges we face seem insurmountable. The fights are ever urgent. In these times, how do we move—as humans, as activists, as designers? What does it mean to fight for structural justice when structures and institutions are so deeply broken? How do we honor grief for the tragedies around us without letting them paralyze us—and continue pushing for the just and joyous world we know is possible?

Panthea Lee reflects on nearly 20 years of dreaming and fighting for dignity in over 30 countries—as a journalist, organizer, designer, and facilitator — and what she has learned about bridging worlds and staying with the trouble. She explores what it means to reflect critically on our positionalities, the vital role of humility and transformation, and the necessity of personal and collective healing in our shared struggles.

About Panthea Lee

Panthea Lee is a writer, activist, and transdisciplinary designer and facilitator in service of life and liberation. She has built and supported coalitions of community leaders, artists, healers, activists, and institutions fighting for dignity in over 30 countries. Panthea has held fellowships at Stanford University’s Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity and Digital Civil Society Lab, and at Arizona State University’s Center for Science and the Imagination. She is a board member at The Laundromat Project, RSA (Royal Society of Arts) US, and DemocracyNext.
