FPA/SUNY Global Engagement Lecture Series 2023 with Jessica Faieta

This year’s SUNY Global Engagement Series will be delivered by Ms. Jessica Faieta, Senior Fellow at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. The title of her lecture will be “Is Latin America the most violent region in the world?” The homicide rates in Latin America and the Caribbean continue to be among the highest in the world. How are crime, gang violence, and drug trafficking affecting development in the Region? How is citizen insecurity interlinked with challenges to governance, democracy, and migration flows in the continent? Faieta uses various data sources to analyze the situation and to reflect on policy choices.

The lecture will have a reception to follow.

You can also join the lecture virtually via Zoom with this link.
