Elizabeth French Hitchcock Lecture with Elizabeth Economy
About the speaker:
Dr. Elizabeth Economy is a senior advisor for China at the Department of Commerce. Currently, she is on leave from her position as a senior fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution. Economy was previously a senior fellow and director for Asia Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. Among her several books on China, the most recent, which was written prior to her government service, is The World According to China (2021). One reviewer described it as “a wake-up call to the U.S. and the world.” Politico Magazine hailed Economy as one of the “10 Names That Matter on China Policy.” She tweets @LizEconomy.
Copies of Dr. Economy’s book, “China’s Long March to Global Influence”, will be available for purchase at the event.

All in-person lecture attendees must be fully vaccinated and must provide proof of such at check-in, along with a valid form of ID. We will require all to wear masks and will arrange seating to provide social distancing to the greatest extent possible.
Due to limited seating, guests are not permitted at the Hitchcock lecture. Any guests must purchase a guest pass.
