Online-seminar “Re-Imagining the Saw Mill River”

Join us in person or via Zoom on Monday, December 12, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM for the presentation of proposals for enhancing the Saw Mill River in southern Westchester County by the student in the Land Use/Environmental Planning field workshop at Cornell University’s Department of City & Regional Planning. Over this semester, the students have visited sites and engaged stakeholders to develop ideas that reimagine the river corridor. In particular, their project has focused on improving public access to the river, mitigating flood risk, and strengthening the river’s natural elements. Within their scope, they have identified seven focus areas for improvements: Chauncey Park, the South County Trailway, the Carpet Mills Arts District, Doyle Park, Stefanik Park, Walsh Homes, and Palisades Towers. They will make a short presentation of their concepts and look forward to hearing from residents, officials, and others active in the restoration and protection of the Saw Mill River.
