Lecture “Helping your child with Dyslexia and reading challenge”

Practical tools, school strategies, and advocacy tips for parents; presented by Andrew Shanock, PHD

This engaging, interactive presentation is designed to help parents better understand dyslexia and reading challenges—demystifying common myths while highlighting the science of how children learn to read. Families will gain valuable insight into early signs and effective ways to support struggling readers. Most importantly, parents will leave with evidence-based, practical interventions they can use at home and in partnership with schools.

Dr. Shanock is a professor of school psychology at Yeshiva University. For over 20 years, he has been a featured national speaker on evidence-based literacy interventions. In 2024, he served as a member of the NYS Dyslexia and Dysgraphia Task Force.
