Lecture “Transforming Cities”
City Tech Department of Architecture hosts 3XN: Reimagining existing buildings to create resilient, future-ready cities.
At 3XN/GXN, architecture is a tool for shaping human behavior, strengthening communities, and creating resilient urban environments. Through a research-driven design approach, the practice explores how buildings can respond intelligently to social, environmental, and cultural contexts — pushing the boundaries of aesthetics, performance, and sustainability.
A central focus of 3XN/GXN’s work is the transformation of existing buildings and urban spaces. By reimagining what is already there, the studio seeks to extend the life of the built environment while unlocking new spatial, social, and environmental potential. The lecture will present recent projects and research that demonstrate how thoughtful design can catalyze positive change at both the building and city scale.
