Join us for an evening with Omi Bell, Founder/CEO of Black Girl Ventures and the host of The Omi Show on SiriusXm Urban View. She will be joined by special guests in each city. The night will be filled with storytelling, networking, and community. We will also be screening the “Entrepreneurship is a Boxing Match” short film which answers the question “Why is Black women’s entrepreneurship different from any other kind of entrepreneurship.”

Our mission is to provide Black/Brown woman-identifying founders with access to the community, capital, and capacity building in order to meet business milestones that lead to economic advancement through entrepreneurship.

About the Documentary:

The “Entrepreneurship is a Boxing Match” film follows Shelly Omilade Bell as she partners with Nike to create a mural to shift the narrative around black women business owners. Omi teams up with 4 black women founders in the DMV area to showcase their journey and the journey of dedication to creating a job for themselves and others.

One of the key questions asked in the film is “What makes black women’s entrepreneurship different from any other kind of entrepreneurship?”
