In or Out Private Screening
You are invited to formally invite you to our Private Screening of IN OR OUR on November 5th, 2022.
Attendees, welcomed by invitation will be treated to an exclusive premiere of our short film In or Out. The night will kick off with a VIP Mixer from 7- 7:30 PM with cocktails and light bites followed by the film screening and a Q&A with Film/TV executives at 8 pm.
Synopsis:
This film offers a first-person view of the pressure to join gang violence from the perspective of young black men and women with the goal of exposing the deep systemic challenges of historical oppression. This film shows the aspect of why young men join gangs, especially black men, and the generational cycle it has amongst the people that choose to go down that route. It also highlights the expanding role of social media and the importance of keeping up an online image as well as the lengths young people will go through to feel accepted and included in an increasingly divided world.
This film also brings awareness to gun violence and the increasing war on gang activity in the black community. Hopefully, this film can inspire each others to take action and spread positivity to the next generation.

Nicole Sylvester — Director
Nicole Sylvester is an award-winning Brooklyn-based filmmaker. Maya & Her Lover is her debut feature film as a writer/director. Maya & Her Lover has played at several film festivals including American Black Film Festival, where it was nominated for ‘’Best Feature Film’’ and “Best Director”, Harlem International Film Festival, where it won “Best Feature”, Detroit Trinity International Film Festival where it won “Best Feature”, Black Harvest Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival and Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. Maya & Her Lover was released in 2021 by 1091 Pictures.
Ashley Lauren Elrod — Casting Director, Director, Actor, and Production Designer
Ashley-Lauren is a dynamic casting director, leading the charge for true diversity and inclusivity for several productions, as well as on her own. She currently is contracted for reality casting with Genuine, The Real People Company as a Sr. Casting Director for real people, all the while casting for feature films, short films, and commercials.

As one of the founding agents at CSA and head of literature, our approach is to curate content for the proper market placement in the pitching process.
