Directed by Jacques Deray, La Piscine (The Swimming Pool) is a stylish psychological thriller set in the sun-drenched French Riviera. The film follows Jean-Paul (Alain Delon) and Marianne (Romy Schneider), a glamorous couple enjoying a tranquil vacation at a luxurious villa with a pool. Their idyll is disrupted when Harry (Maurice Ronet), Marianne’s former lover, and his teenage daughter Penelope (Jane Birkin) arrive for a visit. Tensions simmer as jealousy, attraction, and unresolved emotions surface, leading to a dangerous game of seduction and manipulation.
