A year after the events of Finding Nemo, the forgetful but good-hearted blue tang fish Dory suddenly recalls memories of her childhood and her long-lost parents. Determined to reunite with them, she embarks on a journey across the ocean alongside Marlin and Nemo, leading them to a marine life institute in California. Along the way, Dory meets new friends, including a grumpy octopus named Hank, a near-sighted whale shark named Destiny, and a beluga whale named Bailey, while confronting her insecurities about her memory. The adventure tests her courage and resilience as she pieces together her past and discovers the true meaning of family.
