Inwood Library Film Screening “Bloodworth” (2010)

Based on the novel “Province of Night” by William Gay, “Bloodworth” follows the fractured Bloodworth family as they reunite in rural Tennessee after decades of estrangement. E.F. Bloodworth (Kris Kristofferson), a wandering bluesman, returns home to face his resentful sons — Warren (Val Kilmer), Boyd (Dwight Yoakam), and Brady (W. Earl Brown) — while his grandson, Fleming (Reece Thompson), seeks connection and meaning amid the family’s dysfunction. As buried grudges resurface, the family grapples with betrayal, abandonment, and the weight of their shared past, leading to emotional confrontations and a search for redemption.
