Set before the events of “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope”, “Rogue One” follows Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), the daughter of an Imperial scientist forced to design the Death Star. When Jyn learns of her father’s secret plan to sabotage the superweapon, she joins forces with a rogue band of rebels — including Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), the droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), and a defected Imperial pilot (Riz Ahmed) — to steal the Death Star plans. Their desperate mission leads to a gripping battle on the tropical planet Scarif, where the Rebel Alliance makes a daring stand against the overwhelming might of the Empire. The film culminates in a bittersweet victory, as the rebels secure the plans at great cost, setting the stage for the original *Star Wars* trilogy.
