Directed by Penny Marshall, “A League of Their Own” is a sports comedy-drama inspired by the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL), formed during World War II when male players were drafted. The film follows sisters Dottie (Geena Davis) and Kit (Lori Petty), who are recruited to play in the newly founded women’s league.
