“Daisy Miller”, directed by Peter Bogdanovich, is an adaptation of Henry James’ classic novella about a young, free-spirited American woman traveling through Europe in the late 19th century. Cybill Shepherd stars as Daisy Miller, whose bold and unconventional behavior — flirting openly, disregarding social norms, and spending time unchaperoned with men — shocks the rigid high society of Switzerland and Rome.

Frederick Winterbourne (Barry Brown), a reserved American expatriate, is both fascinated and disturbed by Daisy’s defiance of propriety.
