“Mean Streets” follows Charlie, a young man working for his uncle in New York’s Little Italy. He is caught between his Catholic upbringing and his involvement in petty crime with his volatile friend, Johnny Boy. Charlie struggles with his ambition, his feelings for a woman named Teresa, and his deep sense of guilt as he tries to make a life for himself in the neighborhood.
