Mothers’ Day Movement / Saving Mothers, a movie and panel discussion
Aftershock, the 2022 movie, is a documentary following the lives of two women of color who die giving birth and the film follows their families and what is being done. Aftershock premiered at the 2022 Sundance film festival.
Following the movie, we will have a panel featuring the founder and director of Saving Mothers, Dr. Taraneh Shirazian. Saving Mothers is the Mothers’ Day Movement’s chosen charity for 2023. This is an organization working to change the horrifying statistics that 343,000 women will die giving birth in our country this year and how you can help.
