Film Screening of “My So-Called Selfish Life”
The Center for Biological Diversity and New York University are hosting a screening of “My So-Called Selfish Life”. The paradigm-shifting documentary draws upon a heady mix of culture, science, and history-revealing the rich and diverse lives of people who said no to children, and the forces that have marginalized them in society. My So-Called Selfish Life poses timely questions about the culture narratives that shape our identities, and asks: who’s really in control of women’s bodies and lives? Center staffer, Sarah Baillie, alongside panelists from NYU will discuss the relationship between choosing to be childfree and protecting the environment as well as the importance of reproductive freedom. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.
The event will take place in NYU’s Kimmel Center, Room 405.
