Janssen Data + Art Festival

Janssen Commercial Data Sciences will be hosting a festival on using data as a medium in art-making. The festival is on June 23 from 1:30 pm-4 pm EDT at Zimmerli Art Museum in New Brunswick, NJ (accessible by train).

The Data + Art Festival is a one-day event to celebrate data as a medium in art, recognize the importance of art in the industry, and break down the barriers of collaboration between data practitioners and artists of all backgrounds.

We are calling on artists to submit their artwork for our festival. In addition, a panel of data scientists and artists alike will determine winners for a cash prize in our two submission categories. The deadline for submissions is June 13, 2022. Pieces will be chosen based on how much they relate to our theme of Digital Wellbeing, along with originality, concept, and technical craft. For the cash prize, up to three works will be chosen for each category, with the first-place prize being $1000. Artists will be notified by June 17, 2022, on invitation, and the prize winners will be announced at the festival. Chosen artists are encouraged to attend in person to present their work in whatever capacity they can, but not required.
