The 2022 Moving Body—Moving Image Festival focuses on the MOVING BODY WITH DISABILITIES and their representation on Screen.

*** All parts of the Festival are FREE and open to the public. Tickets are needed for the Main Live Screening Event on April 3rd, as CAPACITY IS LIMITED. You do NOT need a ticket to attend the Live Installation or access the Online Screening***

The Moving Body—Moving Image biennale Festival gives voice to social and social justice themes in the hybrid form of filmmaking, also called ScreenDance. The Festival was founded in 2018 by Gabri Christa, who is also the curator. The 2022 Moving Body—Moving Image Festival focuses on the MOVING BODY WITH DISABILITIES and their representation on Screen, and will take place as a hybrid event in Spring 2022.

The Festival will have 3 parts:

• March 28th-April 3rd: Live Installation at the Barnard College Movement Lab (no tickets required — drop in only)
• April 3rd: Main Live Screening Event at Barnard College (tickets required)
• April 3rd-April 11th: Online Screening access to all Festival films on the Moving Body-Moving Image Festival website (no tickets required)

The in-person Main Live Screening Event of the Moving Body — Moving Image 2022 Festival will include two programs of film screenings and a live conversation between guest speakers Kayla Hamilton and Rodney Evans. The Official Film Selection is announced below!

The Live Installation at the Barnard College Movement Lab will include Jury Selected and Invited films, as well as select work from Jury Member and interdisciplinary media artist Yo-Yo Lin 林友友.

All films will be available virtually for the Online Screening on the Moving Body-Moving Image Festival website.
