Teaching House is organising a virtual jobs fair event for English teaching jobs, primarily in the USA. Join us at this online event and find out what sorts of jobs are on offer and how you can secure one and begin a satisfying, social and creative career in English language teaching.
There will be brief introductions from English language teaching recruiters followed by smaller breakout rooms with more in-depth presentations, so you can meet them and ask your questions in a more personal setting.
If you haven’t already taken it, the first step towards teaching English abroad is to gain the CELTA: Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Certified by Cambridge, delivered by Teaching House, the CELTA is a symbol of quality in English-language instruction. FAQs
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
No ID needed for the event. To teach abroad, you need a CELTA certificate and for that you need to be 18+ years of age.
Why is this event happening online rather than in person?
Because of the lockdowns in place around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not able to meet you in person at this time. Please do not travel to our school for this event! It will take place online via Zoom using the following link
I want to teach in a different part of the world, can I still benefit from the jobs fair?
Yes. Finding out about opportunities in one part of the world can give you a good insight into what you are looking for from an employer and provide a benchmark for opportunities in other parts of the world. This can help you know what to look for and expect from a quality English language teaching job offer wherever you choose to teach.
I can’t make it on the day, will the event be recorded?
The main presentations will be recorded but the breakout room meet-and-greets will not be. For information about how to access the recording, please express your interest here
I want to teach online. Is this event for me?
Recruiters are looking for teachers for face-to-face and online classes, but as the English langauge market cautiously rebounds from the covid related travel restrictions, primarily these opportunities will be face-to-face teaching.
