KOTA Alliance Financial Literacy Program Session I
KOTA Alliance is launching a financial literacy pilot program for women and people who identify as a woman. The KOTA Alliance Financial Literacy Program is funded by the West Harlem Development Corporation, a CDFI, located in the Manhattan Community Board 9 area of upper Manhattan. The program is designed to provide women and people who identify as a woman with financial literacy knowledge, skills, tools, and resources for personal economic stability. The 6 weeks program is every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. till 8:30 p.m. The first cohort begins on February 2, 2023, to March 9, 2023.

Our curriculum will cover:
Module I — How to Understand Credit and Banking
- Banking and Savings
- Personal credit, does it matter?
- How to correct and build your credit.
Module II — Personal Budgeting and Taxes
- Developing a budget
- How to file your taxes
Module III — Wealth Building
- How to secure your wealth
- Generational wealth planning

Upon completing the course, the participants will receive:
- Certificate of Completion
- Free Bank Account
- Free Credit Report
- Personal Budget
- Personal Financial Plan
- Connection to funding and lines of credit to build your personal credit
To qualify you must:
- 75% of the participants must live in the Manhattan Community Board 9 catchment area, zip codes 10025, 10026, 10027, 10030, and 10031. This means ALL women are welcome, however, we have 15 guaranteed slots for women who live in the Manhattan CB 9 catchment area.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Must identify as a woman.
